As the first independent European Feminist Think Tank, Gender 5+ is committed to European integration and a future built on gender equality, peace, respect for human rights and sustainability. We, at Gender5+, are European women committed to gender equality and European integration. We see the world, and Europe in particular, through a gender lens. We look at environmental, economic, social and media policies through women’s eyes, with concerns for human development, care and solidarity.
We also try to tackle some of the most entrenched problems such as violence against women, the gender gap in equal pay and the stereotyping of women in the media. We fight for what we believe and we bring our expertise to bear. We reach out and build alliances with women, networks, research institutes, and European institutions such the European Parliament.
Gender5+ is an international NGO, registered in Belgium as a non- profit making organisation. Our objective, as stated in our Statutes, is “to promote women’s rights and gender democracy from a feminist viewpoint , with the ultimate aim of contributing a feminist vision to the process of transformation of society and of European integration”. Gender5+ is based in Brussels. We are a totally independent, self-financed NGO, with no party political allegiance or affiliation, or sponsors.
Within the framework of the G-Epic Project, G5+ team will be responsible of developing a Communication, dissemination and exploitation plan aimed at making information about the project easy to find, accessible and targeted towards a wide and diverse audience.
Agnès Hubert
Agnes Hubert is a recognised european expert on gender policy making. She was in charge of the EU gender equality policy in the nineties and continued to work on gender issues for the European Commission as a member of the in house think tank (currently IDEA).
