Simone Abendschön is an outstanding researcher in the field of political socialization with a focus on the early political socialization processes of children, youth, and adolescents with a tradition of political science and attitudinal research. Since October 2015 she is full professor at the Department of Political Science, Justus-Liebig-University Giessen. Before she was at the Goethe-University Frankfurt and University of Mannheim.
She contributes sounds research to the G-EPIC on political socialization of children, backed with an extensive publication record. She and her team have conducted quantitative secondary analysis of national and international datasets and have expertise in the organization and administration of student interviews within schools.
