I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). My research interests are in political socialization, civic education and societal legacies of armed conflict. As part of my PhD research, I conducted comparative longitudinal research on normative preferences in armed conflict settings.
I am an experienced researcher in multicultural teams and I have ample international exposure having obtained my Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, my Master degree in Politics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University in India and my PhD degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium. I have been awarded scholarships to conduct my studies abroad from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the Organization of American States and the Mexican Council for Science and Technology.
I have conducted policy analysis for the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Brussels Documentation, Information and Research Centre (BRIO). I have also taught history in secondary schools and political science courses in universities in Mexico. Currently, I am teaching a methodology course at the VUB.
I am part of the coordinating team of G-EPIC and I will be dealing with the scientific and administrative coordination of this project across different Working Packages.
