The main coordination of the G-EPIC project takes place at the VUB. 

VUB is an Urban Engaged University in Brussels, the heart of Europe. 20,000 students, nearly a quarter of them from abroad, are engaged in building their future and that of the world. With top-quality scientific research and customised education, VUB makes an active and engaged contribution to a better and more sustainable society. 

The coordinating team in G-EPIC is made up of members of the Political Science Department (POLI) which brings together a broad spectrum of leading researchers in topics such as: Migration and Diversity, Political Representation, Political Socialisation, Democratic Innovations, Federalism, Nations and Nationalism, European Integration and Europeanisation, Political Parties and Elections, Climate and Energy Policy, Gender, Ethnicity and Religion, Brussels Politics and Policy, International Relations. 

The VUB team is currently working in two research groups: The Centre for Information, Documentation and Research on Brussels (BRIO) and the Brussels Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Migration and Minorities (BIRMM). The team has long-standing research experience on civic education, political socialisation, urban youth political engagement, intersectionality and political representation. 

Dimokritos Kavadias

Professor, Principal Investigator / Coordinator

Dimokritos Kavadias is professor in the Political Science Department of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He has hold teaching positions in political science, sociology, comparative politics and different methodology courses at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Universiteit Antwerpen.
