From February 2023, Philipp will be part of the G-EPIC team at the Justus-Liebig University Giessen. From 10/2015 until 09/2022, he was a doctoral research associate in the department of political science at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen. He defended his doctoral thesis with the title Fundamental Conditions of Democracy: Inequality as Disturbing Factor of Democratic Consolidation in December 2022 (Dr. rer. soc.). Previously, he studied political science at the University of Vienna (M.A.) and social sciences at the University of Cologne (B.Sc.).
His research and teaching focus on political support, political attitudes/value orientations. He has extensive experience in quantitative methods (frequentist and bayesian) and also administrated and organized student interviews within schools.
