Professor Bryony Hoskins from Roehampton University is delighted to announce two fantastic early career researcher positions within her research team. These roles focus on projects dedicated to reducing inequalities and offer a unique opportunity to engage in impactful research.
 

1️⃣ Postdoc Position on the EU/UKRI G-EPIC Research Project:
About the Job:
 

School: Faculty of Business and Law
Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate, UKRI/EU Gender Empowerment through Politics in Classrooms (G-EPIC)
Type: Full-time, Fixed Term from 1 September 2024 to 28 February 2026
Grade: RU06
Salary: £35,421 pa inclusive of London Weighting Allowance
We are looking for an early career researcher to be part of our EU Horizon/UKRI funded research project Gender Empowerment through Politics in Classrooms (G-EPIC). The applicant would support the principal investigator, Professor Bryony Hoskins, by supporting and evaluating school-based and teacher-led interventions and experiments that have been designed to increase disadvantaged girls’ confidence in their political voice and to undertake wider research within this research project.
 

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Motivated researcher with a recently completed or about to complete their PhD in a
relevant field
• Good knowledge of quantitative research methods, particularly experimental
design, and developing education materials
• Experience working with teachers, schools, and citizenship stakeholders
• Available from September on a fixed-term contract until February 2026

2️⃣ Research Assistant Position Across Three Projects:

Type: Full-time, Fixed-term from 1 September 2024 to 28 February 2026
Grade: RU05
Salary: £30,469 to £34,512 per annum inclusive of London Weighting Allowance
The University of Roehampton is recruiting a Research Assistant to join Professor Bryony Hoskins’ dynamic research team. The position arises from Professor Bryony Hoskins (PI) having won three prestigious projects; Two UKRI/EU Horizon funded research projects and a UNICEF project supporting the development of Life Skills and Citizenship Education in Egypt, Tunisia, and the state of Palestine. The successful candidate will work across these three projects.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Masters or PhD in relevant field
• Experience in undertaking mixed methods and policy research
• Experience of working with policymakers and teachers
• Experience of project management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
